CLEAR LAKE BOYS BASKETBALL
Important 2020/2021 Season Update
We are limiting registration and starting a wait list after we get the next full team. If we get 8 people on the wait list, then we will add another team. So, please register as soon as possible so we now how many teams that we will have. We look forward to seeing everyone in the gym.
We are excited to let you know that we have agreed to partner with Friendswood Youth Basketball. Friendswood school district is allowing gym rentals with published COVID-19 requirements. Right now, CCISD and St Bernadette are still not allowing gym rentals, so we are excited to move forward with a more concrete option.
We will register our teams and submit full Clear Lake teams into the Friendswood league. Our primary gym will be at Friendswood Middle School which is a short 20 minute drive from Clear Lake. It is also likely that activities can be at Upside gym in Alvin which is a 30 minute drive from Clear Lake. The website below has great information on the Friendswood league including gyms that are possible and COVID-19 requirements for each gym. In general, Friendswood has very similar rules to us regarding play time and practice time and we feel very fortunate that they are willing and able to partner with us.
A couple of other advantages are that Friendswood is big enough to have 3rd graders play alone versus combining with 4th graders and we think the 5th and 6th graders will really be excited to see new players versus competing against the same group for several years in a row.
To play with us, register like you normally would through the registration link in the top menu. We will have a draft and player evaluations for our teams in a similar fashion to prior years. We will publish player evaluation dates in the first half of November and we will now leave registration open through the first week of November.
We realize that this is a significant change and some people may not be willing to make the different commute. We tried to accommodate for this by signing up full Clear Lake teams in case there are opportunities to carpool. But, if families do not wish to participate anymore and have already registered, we will refund money.
Please send questions to email@example.com.
To register, click on the "Registration" link in the top menu and then the "Begin Registration" button. You will then need to login with your existing SportsPilot login or click the "Create New Account" button. Once you have an account and are logged in, You can add your child in the "Family Members" section or click the "Begin Registration" link in the "Account Actions" section once your child has been entered. Next, you will select the participant and proceed through the registration process.
Please make sure that you receive a confirmation email stating that your registration is complete.

CLBB Regular Season
Our youngest playing division is our Junior 9’s and is for players who are in the 3rd grade. The oldest division for the regular season is for players in 6th grade. Our eligibility requirements are that boys are zoned to either attend or eventually attend Clear Lake, Seabrook, Space Center, or Westbrook Intermediate schools though players attending other schools are eligible based on availability. Teams are formed through a draft and players are required to attend a draft evaluation. The evaluations and draft will take place in early November. Practices will start in November or December and games in January after the winter break.
CLBB Second Season
CLBB Second Season basketball is open to all 7th through 12th graders. There are two Divisions. The College Division is for 7th to 9th graders. The Pro Division is for 10th to 12th graders. Players may play up a division per the skill of the player and based on availability. Many of the players currently play or have played school team basketball and will be or are attending Clear Lake, Clear Brook, or Clear Falls High Schools. Players who attend other CCISD and non CCISD high schools are eligible based on availability.
This is a post-season league designed for ALL GAMES, and NO PRACTICES. Teams are formed by a draft and players are required to attend a draft evaluation in March after Spring Break. The season runs from late March to mid-May and games are played in the evenings Monday through Friday and Saturday afternoons. After the regular season, all teams will play in a post season tournament with awards going to the winning and runner-up teams.
!! THIS WILL BE THE MOST FUN YOU WILL HAVE PLAYING BASKETBALL THIS YEAR !!
Cost of the season is $100.00. Players must play in a black/white CLBB jersey and the cost of a jersey is $20.00 and can be purchased in person or paid for at registration. Players must have paid prior to participating in a draft evaluation to be eligible for the draft.
Our goal is for everyone to have a positive experience playing CLBB. Please let us know if you have any ideas to improve CLBB. All input will be appreciated and considered. Even better, donate your time and VOLUNTEER! From Board members to coaches and timekeepers, CLBB has thrived on the strength of its volunteers.
We have had wonderful support from the community for over 30 years and would like to continue this tradition with your help. For more information and if interested, email email@example.com.
CLBB is hiring high school young men and women to help with keeping score at CLBB games for all the divisions (3rd-12th Grade). This is a fun way to earn money and help your community. Scorekeepers are responsible for working the scorebook, not the clock. The pay starts at $8.00/per game.
The following criteria must be met to be eligible:
1. High school student who would be zoned to attend Space Center, Clear Lake, Seabrook or Westbrook Intermediate school.
2. Available on Saturdays and some weeknights.
3. Attend a meeting/training session.
There are limited Scorekeeper positions available. If you are interested in becoming a CLBB Scorekeeper, please fill out the application and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also bring your application to a tryout session or give it to a CLBB Board Member.
Please contact Marla Schmidt at email@example.com if you have any questions.
